BRIEFING NOTE

SEN RE-ORGANISATION

The purpose of this briefing note is to keep colleagues abreast of the progress being made in relation to staffing issues which are concerned with the special schools re-organisation.

Officers and trades union representatives have been meeting regularly and have now developed a set of twelve principles that will form the basis of an assimilation process to move staff from closing schools to new schools.  These principles have been agreed by both management and trade union representatives at the Joint SEN TU meetings (referred to as OJC’s).

A copy of the principles is also posted on this website ( www.specialschoolsreorg.sytes.net ).  This document is only the start of the process and as further elements are developed they will be posted on this site.  You will be able to see, through the final document, how the process will affect you and the proposed timescales.

We will ensure that you have full and open access to information and that you are kept informed of the developments of the process as soon as they have been agreed through the OJC meetings.  Documents, once they have been agreed, will be posted on this website ( www.specialschoolsreorg.sytes.net ).

As usually happens during any period of uncertainty information and opinion can become confused.  To avoid this please be assured that unless something is posted on this website it has not been agreed and is a matter of supposition or guesswork and not fact.  If you do have concerns and wish to seek clarification please speak to your Head-teacher or Trades Union Representatives.
